Good Eats from Good Thoughts

It's always nice to know someone is thinking of you. This past week was rather busy for all parties acquainted, but on Friday a new friend of mine added another point to the small points scale. She snagged me a sammy from a program she worked. A white bread labeled "Vegetable" which would have been tossed made it safely to my fridge. She was happy, it made me (and my unsatisfied hunger) very happy. I pass this on to you, to pass on to someone hungry you know. Here's to you: New Friend Samaritan

"All of humankind has one thing in common...the sandwich. I believe that all anyone really wants in this life is to sit in peace and eat a sandwich"-

The Buzz

It's to easy to get down about the state of things today, be it the OK'd wild corporate spending of political campaigns, the still slipping job numbers or anything else dealing with the supposed 2012 doomsday countdown. But here's one more for the brighter side.
Honey bees, they maybe disappearing at an alarming rate, but here is a chance for something big (the Haagen-Dazs Corporation) to help something small (the bees themselves) ultimately to fix something big.
Check out how you (small) can help end the bee disaster (big), plant your own HelpGarden. A nice spring project.

Proof

Something unexpected happened, a few months ago my good friend and roommate had her bag stolen from her, on her birthday no less. We looked everywhere, checked where we were over and over again, put out notices, but all to no result. All this act did was hurt and scare my friend while causing unneeded amounts of money and work.
But today something even more unexpected happened. Our friend got a phone call, someone had finally found my friend's bag. Everything was inside it, all intact, and undamaged even after being hidden inside of a toilet tank at a bar for three months.
So Samaritan of the Day: The Plumber at Red Hot Tomatoes.
Well done. Here's to proof, good > evil.

With Ears

I've been hearing some excellent things in these quick days that have gone past. And no I don't mean new music, mostly it's some of my favorites that have been on repeat that are making me feel like ( or may be enforcing) this euphoria the new year had brought.
Here's a list of some excellent things I've heard (don't despair if you feel and may be clichés, thanks).
1. My New Years Resolution was to be nicer. I'm being nice.
2. There's not a dress rehearsal for this, it's only today.
3. I'm not surprised, I expected everything to be this good.
I'll leave you with three favorite songs, so old, so good, that I hope put you in as excellent spirits as mine are; with three things that they say to you.
1.
"I've gotta big big big big heart beat, yeah I think you are the sweetest thing I wear a coat of feelings and they are loud I've been having good days. Think we are the right age"
2.
"for now we are young let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we can see, love to be in the arms of all I'm keeping here with me."
3.
"I'm so blessed to have spent that time with my family and the friends I love with my short life. I have met so many people I deeply care for."

or as those boys say else where..."It's a new year, I'm glad to be here, it's a fresh spring, so let's sing."

More substantial news to follow.

In this new year the time seems right for something like this. There's too much around me not to notice it all, every collection and each contribution to the larger human community in small deeds, in little words, in gorgeous creation; to all the naysayers that the world is ending, and humanity is dead, I think it's time to look again.
These may seem like bold aspirations, but this is all about the little things.

Here's what we are looking for.
